In This Chapter
Preparing the System for Manufacturing Implementation
Implementing Bills of Material: General Process
The primary entity defined in Acumatica ERP Manufacturing Edition is a
bill of material
that contains the details of the process of producing a particular stock item. The bill of material includes the operations involved in production, the materials used in the operations, the more detailed steps of the operations, and the factors that must be included in the cost of the finished goods.
Configuring Production Cost Drivers
In this chapter, you will find information about configuring the production cost drivers that can be included in the cost of the final product in Acumatica ERP Manufacturing Edition. These production cost drivers include materials, labor, tools, machines, and overhead.
Configuring Work Centers
In organizations that produce items, specific areas are dedicated to operations involved in production, such as assembly or machine operations. In Acumatica ERP Manufacturing Edition, you need to create work centers that correspond to these areas. You assign people or machines to work centers, and you specify shifts and overhead costs. Work centers are required for bills of material.
Configuring Production Order Types
When you configure Acumatica ERP Manufacturing Edition, you need to specify the default settings for production orders, such as which workflow an order is involved in (production, planning, or disassembly) and how the cost of produced items should be calculated. These settings are provided through the use of production order types, which are described in detail in this chapter.
Implementing Production of Lot- or Serial-Tracked Items
This chapter describes the configuration of processing the production of lot- or serial-tracked items in Acumatica ERP Manufacturing Edition.
Implementing Item Production with Backflushing
This chapter describes the minimum configuration of the item production with material and labor backflushing in Acumatica ERP Manufacturing Edition.
Implementing Production with Scrap, Waste, and By-Products
This chapter describes the minimum configuration of item production that may include scrap, waste, and by-products in Acumatica ERP Manufacturing Edition.
